N59

Winter nights and days at high latitudes can be dark and frustrating

but is it really true?

Your Airways winter schedule update

Your Airways has been one of the biggest fictional operators in virtual Northern European skies for the last decade – that is our home. We have operated to many of the bigger or smaller cities in the area. There is a great VATSIM air traffic controllers coverage in Norway, Sweden and Denmark. Good and up-to-date scenery is available for most of the locations.

On the other hand, our pilots have said, that they prefer to fly from A to B to C to D rather than from A to B and back to A. Most of them have also said, that they would prefer shorter sectors to medium. This allows multiple flights on a same evening. Adding more direct routes makes it possible.

So lets put those dots together from A to D trough B and C to expand our presence in the region and satisfy our customers (pilots). See below.

N59 Concept

N59 is the latitude that passes near to four major northern cities, Tallinn, Helsinki, Stockholm, and Oslo. We have decided to connect all of them and on top of that, have connections inside each country. This allows a pilot to operate realistic crew pairing. Example: Tallinn-Alta-Oslo-Stockholm-Tallinn. At the same time, it also gives a stronger presence of Your Airways in the region.

Other adjustments

Unpopular (routes flown less frequently by our crew) and Mediterranean destinations (as it is also cold there) are removed and replaced with more suitable warmer winter holiday destinations.

  • London airport will change from Gatwick to Heathrow.
  • There will be a direct route to Gdansk, Belfast, Sharm el Sheikh, Grand Canaria, Tenerife, Doha, Agadir and some more.
